Gary Olsen July 2006
I was teaching a field photography class in Galena, Illinois, when I spied an old friend on the US 20 Bridge, one of the best vantage points to view the great Galena cityscape. This is a very popular subject for Carl Johnson who has made Galena and its environs his career as a painter. Carl Johnson's Gallery has been a fixture on Main Street for as long as I remember (and I'm in my fifties). Oh, he paints a lot of other subjects, too, around the world, but it's his paintings of Galena that will be his greatest legacy. Visit his gallery. |
