Logo for ARK (Please read the instructions below these logos) These logos above can be downloaded immediately by RIGHT CLICKING on them and then saving them to your hard drive to a directory you designate. But these logos are small and not really suitable for high quality printing. They're fine for multmedia applications, however. But if you LEFT CLICK ON THE LOGOS ABOVE, the larger, more printable version will downloade into your browswer. This is high resolution JPEG file that can be downloaded onto your computer where it can be opened in PhotoShop and converted to CMYK and any appropriate file format you need for a page layout program, for example. Below are two more logos linked to this page by hyperlinks. They are much larger and more highly resolved. Click on them, and they will download to your browser. They will be much larger than your browser window can accommodate, but that's okay. These are ideal for commercial printing which needs graphics that are higher in resolution than the ones above. In fact, if you are working with a commercial printer, you can simply ask your printer to download the images directly into their computer, and there they can do any manipulation or sizing they may wish to do. All you have to do is point your print company to this Web page. Click on the appropriate link below. Download the Large Color Logo | Download the Large Black & White Logo Right click on the graphics when they are finished downloading, and save them to your hard drive. How the Logo was Designed: Below are the evolving concept drawings that led me to the more rendered logo design I'm submitting for your consideration above. I could depict the Ark all manner of ways, but I did not envision a childlike approach... a boat festooned with animals. I stayed with the Biblical interpretation of the Ark, however, since it is a familiar and recognizable design to most folks in the western world. The image evokes determination, faith, protection, all the things that are part of your organization's core values I figure. My final concept is more sophisticated and professional looking, I feel. I hope you agree. This was my basic arc drawing. I always saw the ark in context of a circle, with waves of some sort as if the craft was being tossed about on the sea. This line drawing shows how the words for which ARK stands could be displayed around the logo image. When I saw this line drawing for the first time in its finished state, it brought to mind a stained glass window. This is a monotone version of the logo which I think could work if you decide on a color that would be appropriate. By Gary Olsen olsega@mchsi.com
